Lesson on Patterns
On 14th of
September, I taught mathematics lesson in class PP through ICT tools. The topic
was on patterns. With the integration of ICT in lesson now many children were
aware of the ICT and its uses. Students now a day are fond of ICT and they take
interest in learning using ICT. They learn faster and its fun learning.
In introduction parts
I taught them using classroom objects such as: linking cubes, students
themselves, gho/kira patterns, floor patterns, etc. They learn different patterns
of A B, A B, A B, A B patterns and then ABB, ABB,ABB patterns and AAB, AAB, AAB
patterns. After that using the classroom objects, they were asked to find out
any other patterns in the classroom. Then teacher draws patterns on the green
board.
After that, I took them to the TV room and showed
them the videos on patterns where students watched and tell what types of
patterns are shown in the video. While video is screen in TV, I can understood
that children are enjoying the session. They are actively listening and
watching the video. In between, I asked them some questions such as: Yangchen,
what pattern is this? Is it AB pattern? Kabir, what pattern is shown there? Who
can tell this pattern? So, students are really enjoying the lesson and as most
of them can tell the patterns correctly.
Few challenges always
occur while teaching in a smaller grade like class PP as some of them could not
say the patterns correctly. I ask the students who is sitting beside them to
help what patterns is it. Most of the students could tell the patterns
correctly and recognize from the videos screen in the TV. At the end of my
teaching, I felt happy as the lesson was successful one and children were
insisting me to show the videos again. I promise them to bring to TV room when
I have an interesting lesson/topic. They were very eager for the next lesson
where they learn much better through ICT teaching.
Class PP children during the ICT lesson
Your mathematics class seems to be a successful one. All children are fully engrossed into what you are showing on the screen.
ReplyDeleteDorji, you are doing great and today`s youth are very much fond of digital world.
